My Medium Earnings for February 2024: What An Almost 500% Increase in Reads from Last Month Earned Me

A sneak peek into my approach

Well, it's official, I’ve been writing daily on Medium for 60 days.

But my approach has been slightly different than what you’ve probably seen from most Medium writers going all in to grow as quickly as possible.

My approach

Although I was writing daily, I wasn’t publishing daily.

This is how I chose to approach the month of February:

Limit my Medium time (reading, engaging, and writing) to about 3 hours a day on average.
Publish once a day
Use Saturdays and Sundays to write but not publish anything.

So technically, I was publishing daily every 5 days a week.

What’s behind my approach

I didn’t do things this way because I have a secret formula for “beating the algorithm”.

We all know that consistency is key! However, I wanted to ensure I focused on striking a good balance between quality and quantity.

I’m here for the long run and I can’t afford to put too much on my plate and risk burnout.

Although my approach was a bit more “relaxed” compared to writers who choose to publish twice daily, dedicating a couple of hours each day to writing still demands hard work and commitment.

It’s the strategy that worked for me this month, based on my lifestyle, my other responsibilities, and my ability to create quality content.

That’s almost $500 in 29 days. This is a huge milestone for me.

My gratitudes

First of all, if you are a new writer, I want you to realize that reaching a triple-digit payout on Medium within 60 days is possible. It requires hard work, but it’s doable without overworking or letting Medium take over your entire life.

And of course, I wouldn’t have been able to reach this incredible milestone without the people who read my stories and take the time to engage.

My approach for March 2024 will be different.

My earning goal will be $1000. It’s a big step and it won’t be easy, but I have a strategy that I feel confident will help me reach this goal.
