My Love Is My Comfort
September Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Comfort”
A chalk heart inspires a kiss.
While wandering around a monument in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria today, I noticed this heart drawn on the ground in chalk.
As I tend to do when I see these sorts of things, I stepped over it to capture it in a photo.
However, I was annoyed that the sun was casting my shadow on it and obstructing the image.
After a moment of contemplation, and with my partner standing next to me, I realized that it was a great opportunity to make a cool shadow that also displayed the very message that was already on the ground.
We were even more excited when we realized that the space between our chins also portrays a bit of an obscure heart.
As we were exploring a new town today, I couldn’t help but reflect on how comfortable we are together. We have almost been traveling full-time for 5 years and not many moments happen where we are even out of sight of each other.
The comfort that we have together is quintessential to the success of our nomadic life. If we didn’t have that, the rest would fall apart.
They say that home is where the heart is, and I can attest that we both feel at home when we are simply together.
