My Last Breath of Dust
A poem when death is met with regret.

Shimmering wings of darkness they sweep.
Crying a warning while I begin my grim sleep.
A solitary friend joins together with a murderous trance.
Morning flight pins of night mark their gathering dance.
Moonlight sun scavenger of Odin’s sight.
I lay cold on this battlefield awaiting to take flight.
My world has been shattered into bits of dust.
There is nothing left here for either of us.
I lay while you feast on my reflective life.
Images once seen now scattered to light.
Darkness marauders spread fear to remind me of death.
A world drifts away hearing my departing breath.
