My Lack of Intuition and How I Can Make it Better
Spoiler alert: it involves self care.

I once had an intuition that was so spot on, you couldn’t get anything past me.
Whether it be what song would play next on shuffle, an important event happening soon, or even knowing what someone was going to say before they said it.
I was always on point, and I knew it.
That’s been slipping, lately.
Going with my gut instinct has started to fail me.
I recently met a woman who I’ll call Kat.
On face value, she was great.
Our first interaction, that was supposed to be a brief encounter, turned into a 2-hour conversation in the middle of a store.
After that, I saw her frequently.
Kat was super bubbly and talkative, always willing to help me with anything I needed.
She seemed like a great person and someone who could become a great friend.
She proved me wrong.
Kat would tell me something, then tell others in our circle the opposite.
She blamed me for multiple things that were not my fault behind my back but praised me to my face.
She was just not the type of person I wanted in my life.
Now let me introduce you to someone else, I’ll call him Jay.
When I first met Jay, I was immediately on defense.
I felt like I couldn’t rely on him.
I thought this guy was going to be a jerk and not respect me the way I intended to respect him.
Fast forward a few months, Jay has become my best friend.
He opened up to me about his life, and vice versa.
He always checked in with me and made sure I knew I could depend on him.
It’s very obvious to me now that I can trust him with anything.
He’s a great person and someone who I see being in my life forever.
Obviously, my gut instinct is failing me.
So why is my intuition so warped?
Well, when there’s a lot happening in life and you’re stressed, like I was at this time, it can cloud your judgement and cause your intuition to become weaker.
Lots of people believe that your intuition can grow stronger when you’re more in tune with yourself.
Things like meditation, breathing exercises, and grounding yourself can make all the difference in how your mind works.
It can be hard to make time for yourself when you work and/or have children.
Regardless, it’s important to always make time for yourself and practice self-care, even if you have a short time frame to do it in.
Find little things you can do every day to ground yourself and gain more mental clarity.
Anytime you get a chance to sit in silence with yourself, take in every moment with appreciation.
Over time, you’ll see the results.
