My Knight In Shining Armour
Love in its many forms
In the dance of life, he has been a constant companion, though I failed to understand him and fully appreciate his presence during my youth.
Unnoticed, he lingered by my side, waiting patiently for me to open up my eyes, to truly see his splendour and bask in his warm embrace.
For months on end, my eyes could not see his beauty or feel his warmth. But he was there, watching over me, a beacon of unwavering strength. He was my knight in shining armour, waiting for me patiently to open my eyes. To see him truly, to feel his power.
Erroneously, I thought he had forsaken me when his brilliance eluded my eyes, unaware that forces beyond our control stopped him from being in my life. I missed his warmth, the way he made me smile, magically minimising life’s problems. I would get angry and frustrated when he left me for days, that sometimes turned into months. They were the dark times when getting up in the morning was an arduous task.
But always when he returned, his shining personality would melt away my anger. His kisses would heat my skin, at times so fierce they left me burning up inside and the memory forever etched on my soul.
Recognising I could not endure life without him, I sought solace in a place where the forces had less dominance over our love. Where we could share a life and indulge in waking up together. My soul shivers from an immense joy when I see his sleepy face peek out at me as he slowly wakes up, feeling his manly heat rise as he sends rays of love across my entire body.
Sometimes he sleeps in and I wait patiently, knowing he is in my life and will rise when he is ready. The forces that dominate his life affect us less now. On the rare days, when they do, I look forward to his return, knowing he always will.
He is the unwavering constant in the ebb and flow of my life. No matter what challenges life throws at me, he fills me with a warm reassurance that all will be well.
Thank you, sun, for being my knight in shining armour, my constant companion in life and for gracing my days with your uplifting rays of loving warmth.
