This topic is so popular on Medium that I couldn’t resist giving my two cents while still relevant. Recently I surpassed 100 followers on Medium.

Motivation

My writings focus on programming, engineering, and data science, where I report small spare-time projects. When I learn something new or revise an old topic, I’ll write an article to consolidate the information gained. Documenting benefits my learning while hopefully simultaneously providing a resource someone may find helpful.

I have seen countless discussions on strategies to increase subscriber count, views, and reading time.

It took six months and 16 articles to reach the milestone of 100 followers.

Quicker than some, certainly longer than others.

Having 100 followers means I can now get paid if people read and engage with my work. That’s a great benefit. I’ve turned a part-time hobby into a source of passive income.
