My Intuition Has Never Lied to Me: It Hasn’t To You Either

Listen to the whisper.

Albert Einstein said once that “… the intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don’t know how or why”.

Paradoxically, Einstein was a huge believer in the mystical, the realms unknown to man and drew inspiration from this world. Some would say his greatest works have come from a place beyond intelligence.

Humans tend to live from the mind, from the world of so-called logic. I know I’m guilty of it, chronic over thinker. Have been my entire life.

But, there’s a wisdom innate in everyone. There’s a quiet, subtle voice sitting in the most trustworthy part of the body. It’s a voice providing the guidance not even the most skilled teacher can provide.

This is the voice of intuition. This is your inner guidance. Your inner voice. This is you.

So how exactly do we access this intuition?

Writing

Writing is essential to unlocking your intuition. It’s one of the few actions you can take that will open you up to yourself.

If approached from a genuine place, after several attempts at writing (or the initial attempt if you are honest from the beginning), you will hear and read your voice in your words.

All the answers you’ve been looking for are right in front of you; in a conglomeration of perfectly crafted words.

Even if what was written felt choppy and unnatural, they’re your words and they’ve come from a part if you. At the least, you might read back something you wrote and recognize the lack of voice and try it all over again.

Self Awareness

“Intuition is the highest form of intelligence, transcending all individual abilities and skills.” — Sylvia Clare

Intelligence is often identified as being able to gather facts and data in memory. It’s often seen as how an individual speaks, how well they do math and can recite science.

Intelligence spreads far beyond science. Intelligence seeps into the everyday self awareness of an individual. It’s how information in sensitized and conclusions are formed.

Without self awareness, there is no connection to the self. The self is vacant.

Some of the hardest times in my life with intuition have come from my complete disconnect from myself. Not knowing who I’ve been has made it difficult to even have opinions.

With self awareness, and this is the kind of awareness reaching far beyond the mind as well, one is able to observe from the centered place and create unbiased conclusions.

Self awareness opens the door to higher learning. It’s the gate to a higher understanding and search for truth.

Intuitive Decision Making

The grounding block of intuition is decision making.

Decision making is how intuition is tested. Intuition is also how you cut through the noise and paralysis analysis.

Being honest, the hardest part of making a decision for me is actually making the decision.

I have made more bad decisions in my life than I can count. Looking back at these decisions, what made them “bad” was that I made them purely from my mind. I didn’t involve my heart of my “gut” in any of them.

A decision made from the heart is always a good decision regardless of the outcome.

A decision made even from the slightest connection to one’s own heart and intuition is a better decision than no-decision or one that comes from the mind.

Embracing the Unknown

Intuition lives in the realm of the unknown.

It’s our human need for knowing that often blocks us from our intuition.

Due to the quiet nature of intuition, it requires that we move forward and take steps toward a destination we don’t fully see yet.

If I’m being honest, some of the most intuitive decisions I’ve ever made were not thought out plans. They were quick decisions without details or action plans.

Excessive planning doesn’t tend to lead to a place of wonder. It leads to robotic and predictable outcomes. Stepping into the unknown though, that’s how we can take steps toward outcomes that are bigger and better than we imagined were possible.

Intuition is all the teachers and mentors you have been looking for “out there” packed into a subtle voice living inside of you.
