My Introduction…

This is my bio for ILLUMINATION.

Based on the suggestion of the incomparable Dr Mehmet Yildiz, I’m providing a quick bio about myself, as I’m now privileged to be a writer for his new publication, ILLUMINATION. Undoubtedly, it’s a privilege and a honor to work with someone dedicated to their craft and, though I’ve never met Dr Mehmet Yildiz in person, he’s a rare individual that makes you feel as if you’ve known him for a long time, because he’s responsive and dedicated to what he does. As for me, I think we all have a story to tell, and I try to convey those stories through my writing.

I’ve always been impassioned and impressed with good writing, whether it’s an essay, novel, short story, poetry, or, basically, any genre, provided the message is conveyed thoroughly. I enjoy writing about relevant matters, and I want the message to be relatable to the reader(s). Though my degree isn’t in writing, many of us know the extent of the writing that was required in our high school and college years, so I have some experience. Writing rules and styles change over the years, but a good message can easily be told when you’re writing with passion. I’ve learned to just let the writing flow. Writing has caused me to brainstorm more, and become better at note-taking, as writers need to instantly make note of ideas before they’re forgotten. Trust me, as you get older, your memory may still be intact, but you don’t remember as much, so there’s nothing wrong with writing notes whenever you get a good idea.

In addition to writing, I’m also a foodie. Not only a foodie, but a bit of a germaphobe, as well. So, with a liking for writing, being a foodie, and a germaphobe, that sounded to me like the perfect recipe for being a food critic. Not only do I want good food in a restaurant, but I want to inform others about where good food is available, and if the sanitary practices of those restaurants are up to par. It’s not my intention to jeopardize a business, but to bring awareness to their mishaps for the betterment of their business.

Without a doubt, I enjoy writing to tell a story. Oftentimes, I write about situations I’ve experienced in life, or experiences of others that I know, and more often than not, I just get creative and write a story based on my ideas. Regardless of your status in life, we’ve all had good and bad times in life. It’s my desire to encourage people to enjoy life, be inspired, and always be responsible. Music has a tendency to affect one’s mood and can bring good times to your remembrance. I want my writing to have that same effect.

Lastly, I find writing to be therapeutic, and another way to channel positive energy. I may not become a multimillionaire from writing, but if I can make a positive impact in someone’s life, that alone to me is most rewarding. I’m eager to read from fellow writers, and hope they reciprocate and read my work, as well. Thanks for reading and, always try to share acts of kindness.
