My Instagrammable Love Story
5 years of love, life and abundance
Like any other ideal software engineer, I straight away head to Google whenever my code refuses to work.
This is exactly what I did one fine evening after crumbling half a dozen cups of coffee. I stumbled upon this blog that immaculately described step-by-step instructions on how to fix the error.
I fixed the error and bookmarked the blog, not because of the informative content but because I was in love at first sight with the blogger.
Sounds crazy? Yeah it is. It is about to get crazier, hang on!
I opened 3 more tabs on my browser to stalk him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. By that day night, I was a self-appointed subject matter expert on all things related to him and built his digital horoscope.
I now knew his name and the company he worked for.
A few months went by…
As they say, ‘When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’
Guess what? Luck struck and I got through the same company and project he was working for.
“Hi, I’m Vishal,” he said.
“Kamna here.” My heart was thumping and I was over the moon when I saw him.
At this point, every girl Vishal used to talk to become a potential competitor for me.
One after the other, I ruled out the possibilities and came to know that every other girl was his sworn sister and my chances skyrocketed.
We went on our first dinner date in December 2015 and being as daring a girl as I am “THAT IS WHERE I POPPED THE QUESTION.”
Well, being obedient as a son he is, he told his mother about me.
And she said YES!
Wedding planning began in full swing.

My family wished to have an extravagant affair.
Weddings to my family are what the full moon is to werewolves.
But Vishal was born and brought up in a humble south Indian family.
So, we happily chose the middle ground and decided to have the engagement in north Indian traditions and a simple marriage according to the south Indian traditions.
My geeky husband chose to have our wedding invitation as a website. You won’t believe that the website went viral within a few hours of its launch and got featured on BuzzFeed.
We had an amazing photoshoot too.
Can you guess where this was shot?
No, we did not go to the moon.
This was a small town in Rajasthan, India, famous for its marbles.
We did this photoshoot on a marble extract dump. Isn’t creative? Thank you to my sister for having this idea.
We got into a life sentence (no pun intended) on 14th December 2016.
A few days later we bought our first apartment.
I hope a few more years down the line, we’ll have our babies and attend Ben Howard’s concert.
A few decades down the line humans will colonize Mars and genetically modified unicorns will replace cars as a medium of transportation.
Division by Zero would be possible and on the same day, I’ll teach my husband to dance.
It’s been 5 years since our marriage. Cheers to love, life and abundance. Until ♾️
