Update! My Highest Earning Story So Far

And the 10 most important life lessons along the way

I just had to share my best earner so far which is really more of a tribute to my amazing followers than to anything else. If you are looking to find writers promoting their $100 stories —sorry to disappoint you. It’s not me. Not yet. Some day if my dreams come true. But I may have learned at least 10 more important lessons than just money — in just two short months. And you can, too.

First, let’s get to the winning story — 9 Easy Ways…

Pretty good, eh? But there’s better coming.

I actually thought that the second story on Boostrap Marketing would be my big winner, though. Mainly because it is an exciting modern-day tale of David vs. Goliath, and how easy it is to elevate your copywriting using creative video.

This story even comes with its own fun video that all my commenting readers have said was “Freaking Great…” You’ll get the pun after you read and see it!

So progress, not perfection. Going on 3 full months. But let’s get to the list of what I’ve learned part. I would love to know how your learning list compares to mine! Please leave in the comments below.

Here are 10 of the most inspiring and frequently humorous things that I’ve learned so far:

1. That you can write on the deeply personal issues and help other people and be accepted at the same time.
2. I learned handy things like how to embed links into stories and how to optimize being found on Google with keywords from my Medium stories.
3. How writing every day is a discipline that improves my craft while uplifting my personal life.
4. I learned about the pilgrimages truth-seekers take on the Camino de Santigo in Europe.
5. It is also good to know that in the UK, I am known as a “Bloke.”
6. That there is a world of creative people out there and I have the power to interact with them through reading and writing and seeing them in Zoom writing sessions.
7. How much I admire those of you where English is not your first language.
8. How showing up every day makes you a winner in life — and a great writer.
9. I discovered a wall dating back to the Roman Empire, that one of our fellow writers can see out her back window on the English-Scottish border called Hadrian’s Wall. She showed it to me with her camera.
10. That everyone carries lots of hope, lots of pain, and lots of reasons to call them brave.

I feel challenged by someone’s new idea every single day. Challenged to take risks — not just talk about them.
