My Heartfelt Plea: Let’s Keep Medium a Community of Respect and Kindness
Dear readers
I am reaching out to you today to share a personal experience that I have recently had on Medium, a platform that we all know and love for its incredible community and diverse perspectives.
I must confess that I have been the target of a post written by another user that was filled with insulting and disqualifying remarks, which were delivered in an aggressive and disrespectful tone.
As someone who deeply values and supports freedom of expression, I do believe that it is important to have open and honest discussions, even when opinions differ.
However, I also believe that there are more constructive ways to approach disagreements and conflicts, especially within a community as vibrant and diverse as Medium’s.
The post in question has the potential to damage the image of Medium as a platform that fosters healthy and respectful discourse.
It is disheartening to see individuals resort to name-calling and belittling language when they could use their words to promote understanding and growth.
That being said, I remain optimistic that this experience can serve as a learning opportunity for all of us.

It is important to remember that behind every username is a real person with real feelings and experiences.
