My Heart Flowers With My Family

What Makes Your Heart Flower? In response to Dancing Elephants Press prompt 36/52

Photograph is by the author Hermione Wilds Writes

Dr. Gabriella Korosi asked,

What makes your heart flower?

In a recent prompt. So I thought, well I am on holiday, but I can and will submit this on my return.

It is a good question. What makes my heart flower is my family. My family has always been big in my life.

My sister once told me she turns to friends when in need of support and nourishment. I have always preferred family.

I used to envy the close-knit attitude of Indians, Italians, and even some African families. Yes, I know there are also hierarchies in some families, but they always seemed to me to exemplify the attitude that all families should look to as an exemplar, the supportive, fun-loving, endless charitability of family, let me help you out of the family. The listening ear of family. They sit up all night and chat with family. The family meal and the family game.

As a young mother, I always bought a game from the proverbial Father Christmas for my children as a family Christmas present. We played a number of board games together, which reminds me of an old story I wrote many moons ago. I wonder whether I can find it.

So for me, family is my flower. I hope you like the photograph of a garden I planted and tend to. Families are like flowers. They need attention and loving care.

Some of the prominent flowers in the photograph are moon daisies (Oxeye daisies), Campanuala Porschyana (Serbian bellflower), and euphoria.
