My Happy — People

My happiness has always been with other people.

First, my happiness was my parents, holding the wool for my Mother and helping her with the chores. Helping my father with gardening.

Then my siblings. There were 7 of us. We used to play lots of board games with our parents.

Then my happiness was my friends. I was so close to one at junior school, and two at secondary. We spent so much time together that we finished one another’s sentences. That kind of closeness is irreplaceable. My bf (best friend) is now a nurse. I remember being drawn to her because she always seemed happy.

Then I married and raised a family of five and my children filled my world with their amazing personalities, and they became happy. My children were my world. They still are, but I had to let them go and carve out their own lives as individuals on this earth in the hope that I had invested enough time in them so that they could make it, and allowed other people to mentor and support them along the way too….

My happiness is people who take the time to enjoy life. To grow their skills, to use them, to laugh and play and sing and dance, to draw and write, to exercise, to cook, to nurture, to garden.

Did you know that people give you energy?

That’s my happiness. People I love. Oh, yes, and music, and the great outdoors, and writing…and….writers.

Today, a shout-out to these writers
