My Hands Type Faster When I Write in the Early Morning
There’s some odd creative magic in writing when everyone’s still dreaming.

I love watching the sunrise while I write. With a jug of water and a cup of green tea by my side, my hands are typing at the speed of light before those around me have opened their eyes.
The sunrise makes the sky a beautiful mess of oranges, blues, and yellows. It inspires me to stay messy, to not be afraid of being unedited, raw, and open.
When I used to post fanfiction online as a teenager, I didn’t edit it. I just wrote haphazardly and posted it the same day.
I’ve learned a lot since then. Maybe too much. Abiding by strict writing rules feels like living with hecklers constantly snickering behind my back, pointing and laughing at every word I write.
I don’t want to be afraid of my unedited work, even if some would call it messy. The sky doesn’t care if it’s messy. Why should I?
