My Future as Told Through The Gum Ball Machine…

As always- A True Story

A quarter, that is all it was.

Simple enough.

Gum Ball machines

filled with the poetry of fortunes.

A quarter, that is all it was.

The conundrum…

many machines to choose from…

Her tattered leather jacket holds

the future-telling quarter tight.

Zipped.

She dares.

A quarter, that is all it was.

The coin mechanism gets stuck.

She laughs.

“My Life”, she thinks to herself.

Her daughter laughs and assists her.

A quarter, that is all it was.

The round plastic container falls

gently into her hand.

Smiles.

The paper inside reads…

“Your fortune is not found in a Gum Ball Machine,

you have just lost a quarter.”

They laugh.

A quarter, that is all it was.

Leaving the Art Yard they were thanked for contributing to the

community of artists collecting to enhance their creativity.

Each month a new community of artists gathers to create diverse interactive artwork in the form of music, theatre, sculpture, and conceptual pieces.

Each month I await a new experience. My heart is in the Art.

I wish you peace, love, and all that hippie shit. ( It is good to have an edge)
