My Friends Criticize Me Badly and I’m Lucky for This
They disrupt my blissful reverie.
I remember the last day of our university when one of my friends pointed out my two flaws to remove.
As we planned to give suggestions to each other that would help us in the future.
My friend’s words stuck in my mind because those two drawbacks were affecting all aspects of my life.
She could have said — You’re doing amazing and proceeding with your career. But NO.
And I loved it!
My closest friend critiques and offers me candid suggestions when I share the mistakes I made in business.
Here’s how real friends correct us.
When I was in 12th standard, being a student of Non-Medical — Most of my time was spent in the intricated sums of Mathematics.
While taking help from my friends with the complicated sums, my usual statement was — “Please do it fast. My time is wasting.”
One day, my friend called me and said when someone other is doing work for you, they are already giving their time to you. So, don’t repeat the statement of wasting time ever again. And I NEVER did.
The REAL friends praise you in public and criticize you personally.
That’s what is called friendship, and it is where you can grow upward or drawn downward.
As shown on social media, friendship isn’t only about:
- Gossips
- Partying and quitting
- Group talks.
- Cracking jokes and dance
What makes actual friendships is
- Do they support or make fun of your plans?
- Are they happy with your growth?
- Do they ever direct you?
- Make adjustments for you.
So, be choosey when it comes to friends.
A tip to recognize the real friends from the crowd.
Suppose you call them after 4–5 months. They’ll not say — Finally, you remember me. Oh! How did you come out of the blue moon today?
Instead, they’ll be curious and happy to exchange thoughts with you.
And the time gap between your interactions strengthens your friendship even more.
Build your tribe whose vibes and energy align with you.
Friendship is about giving an abundance of love and support without expecting anything in return.
When you have someone who is honest about your mistakes and accepts you as you are, don’t let them go.
Their emotional support is like the spring season after autumn — makes your life vibrant and pleasant.
