My First Orchestra Experience
I had a great first live orchestra experience. When I was 9 years old, I started playing in a youth orchestra. My first concert was my real first orchestra experience. I don’t remember what I have played with my orchestra. It was on the Second Christmas Day that we had a concert. The day it was my grandmother’s birthday. After that concert, I visited my grandmother to celebrate her birthday. We stayed there for a few days.
My first orchestra experience was when my sister played with her student concert orchestra. She studied at the conservatory. Another sister played the flute also in an orchestra. So, I went to a lot of concert with the orchestra’s involved.
When I was a little girl I also went to a concert with professionals, in The Concertgebouw and other concert halls in The Netherlands. These experiences are so amazing. Seeing all the musicians at stage playing their music they’ve practised a lot with each other. When you know pieces, as you heard on the radio on played on a CD, and then listening to it live, is a wonderful experience. I went to the concert until my first daughter was born. After that, I had less time. Sometimes I am going to live concert.
Most of the time, I am playing the violin in my own orchestra and have my own concerts. I could say that these concerts are my live concert experiences.
