Abstract

The author shares their inaugural experience in composing a limerick, a poetic form they have long appreciated but never personally attempted. Rangan for the challenge that led to the creation of their limerick. The content also includes a reference to the original prompt by Lucy Dan and a link to R. Rangan's work titled "A Man Called Donald," which may have served as additional inspiration or context for the author's own limerick.

Opinions

  • The author initially felt apprehensive about writing a limerick despite enjoying them.
  • The author's reluctance turned into motivation after being indirectly challenged by Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 and directly by R. Rangan Ph.D.
  • The author acknowledges the beauty of R. Rangan's original prompt, suggesting it had a significant influence on their work.
  • The author seems to value the sense of community and inspiration that comes from engaging with other writers' prompts and challenges.

My First Limerick

Exposure for fun

This limerick is my first exposure, I write it with full composure, Dare you to laugh, Reduce it to half, When I make this disclosure.

I have never written a limerick although I appreciated quite a few of them. I kept postponing it. I saw Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) in The Brain is a Noodle putting a prompt on EXPOSURE. Thank Heaven’s I said that she did not tag me or I would be challenged to think about writing one. My happiness was short-lived when R. Rangan Ph.D. threw the original challenge of Lucy.

I now thank R. Rangan PhD for finally making me do it. So I wrote on Exposure. R.Rangan’s original prompt which is beautifully written is given below.
