My First-Ever Michelin Star Experience
Simple and Delicious: My Vietnamese Food Adventure
I’ve always been fascinated by the world of fine dining, and recently, I had the opportunity to indulge in my very first Michelin-star experience.
However, my first time trying out this famous, esteemed culinary circle was surprisingly different. Tucked away in the middle of the city was a small, cosy restaurant, nothing like the fancy places you usually think of when you hear “Michelin star.” This lovely place offered an authentic taste of Vietnam and lived up to its promise.
As soon as we got there, we saw a lot of restaurants in the same place, making us wonder where our restaurant was. Then we saw a huge queue waiting at a particular restaurant, and we knew that this was the place. The restaurant was energetic, showing its popularity with locals and food lovers. It felt like we were about to go on a real food adventure.
Waiting for a table was no big deal considering what was ahead. While we waited in line, the delicious smells from the kitchen made us even hungrier and more excited. The place was lively, with happy customers chatting and glasses clinking, making the whole experience even more exciting.
Once we sat down, we got a menu that promised real Vietnamese food, with classic dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. The menu was simple, showing that the main goal was to provide authentic tastes and reflect Vietnam’s food traditions.
Things we tried from the menu —
- Bánh Xèo Tôm Thịt: This is their “Must Try” dish, a Vietnamese pancake with filling inside.
- Cơm Chiên Trái Dừa Chay: It’s fried rice in coconut with mixed vegetables, served in a coconut shell.
- Thịt Gà Xiên: Chicken skewers with rice vermicelli. Also, one of their “Must Try” dishes.
My first Michelin-star experience at Bếp Mẹ Ỉn was genuinely unforgettable. The combination of the ambience, service, and, most importantly, the food made for an evening that surpassed all my expectations.
Conclusion
If you ever find yourself in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I highly recommend visiting Bếp Mẹ Ỉn for an exceptional dining experience. It’s not just a meal; it’s a journey that engages all your senses and leaves you with lasting memories. This experience has undoubtedly set the bar high for my future culinary adventures!
