My First 30 days

And where I am going next

In this article I review my important goals and commitments over the last 30 days.

On July 9 I made a commitment to publish a story on Medium every day. This is day 33 and this is the 33rd story. Today I am making a commitment to continue that process.

As a result of reading an excellent article by Dr. Benjamin Hardy I am making a commitment to review and refine my most important goals every 30 days.

On July 23 I began writing about Python in anticipation of starting to teach a computer programing course at the local seniors center starting mid September. That project has been pushed forward and will start in the winter session in January. I continue to work on that project daily in the same way that I am publishing an article daily. That is if I don’t get any work done on python one day I will do a bit extra the next. Some of that work may find its way into articles on Medium. I am however no longer committed to publishing Python articles in Medium on a regular basis at this time.

Some time ago I discover the exceptional courses which are available through paid subscription on the insightTimer app. I highly recommend this app which has a lot of free content. I continue to follow courses through this app.

I am currently following a 30 day course by Dr.Karolien Notebaert entitled Unlock Your Wise and Mindful Brain. Some of my articles will reflect what I have been learning from this and other courses.

I continue to play the fascinating deck building card game Dominion and may from time to time write about it.

A note on the numbers at the end of the article. They server three purposes. They are to a limited extent a public commitment however only to those who have read this article or one of the other thirty day review articles I will write. They are a personal way of celebrating small victories and measuring my progress. The first one shows the number of days I have been writing since I started this system and the number of articles I have written. This is day 33 and the 33rd article. The second indicates that number of days I have been working on Python and shows when I have missed a day and when I have done a bit extra. Since I make the record when I finished publishing a story if I intend to do some work on Python after publishing. I won’t record it until the next day. Today is the first day and I have done some work on Python today.
