My Fiction Bio — Hunter Eskew

Illumination Fiction Club

Photo by Daniel Jensen on Unsplash

Many moons ago, I wrote a suspense thriller called Between Honor And Evil It’s available on Amazon and today it was ranked #4,639,212. So it’s solidly in the Amazon top five million. Loosely translated this means “Don’t quit your day job yet.”

I took a break for a few years and then joined Medium to get my creative juices flowing again. There is a new novel tumbling around in my skull and it's time it was extracted, whether it wants to escape or not.

I started writing a few non-fiction stories on Medium but they are simply not my passion. So for the most part, I’m now writing horror stories — Medium glory be damned. A better description is probably “supernatural suspense”, but there’s no Medium tag for that, so “horror” it is.

I like to write stories that entertain, move, excite, surprise, and propel the reader through. Mostly because that’s the type of story I like to read.

I’ve got ten under my belt so far, and, if nothing else I’m proud of each of them and look forward to the next ten.

If Medium were to be described as inhabitants of a house, it would be something like this…Non-fiction basks in air-conditioned comfort, spreading out in every room, upstairs and downstairs — also the bonus room over the garage — drinking wine and merrily greeting all the visitors as they ring the doorbell. Fiction lives in the crawlspace with the spiders and centipedes.

So I’m happy for the creation of the Illumination Fiction Club and curious to see where it leads.
