My favourite things in the morning

In the morning, I love being asked by my boyfriend, “Would you like to have a cup of hot coffee?”

I also like listening to the birds or the sound of rain which has a randomly regular rhythm.

Morning light, by HANA

In the summer, I like wandering in our garden, holding a cup of coffee in one hand, watching what is happening with our vegetables and flowers, though my feet sometimes get wet with the morning dew.

In the winter, I like listening to the wood crackling in the fireplace, and the water boiling in the kettle, as I am lying in our cosy bed. I will slowly be waking up, and as my brain starts working, I start thinking about what I am going to write today.

At night, I love the moment to get in bed, feeling slightly tired, expecting to start a new day with a full of energy next morning. I like closing my eyes and happily thinking, “I had a good day, again.”

And hopefully, I’d like to close my eyes with a smile on my face, thinking “I had a good life,” when I’m ending my life.
