My Favorite Shots Of Beautiful Canadian Wildlife

Pictures of animals in the wild

Authors Image- A lone Elk

There are so many things I love about having lived in different continents. I have gotten to experience different climates, landscapes, lifestyles, and wildlife.

Wildlife is an amazing thing, especially seeing them in their natural habitat.

There is something so pure about seeing animals in their natural environment.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of Canadian wildlife.

Bear

Authors Image- Black bear

The bears re-emerge after hibernation during the spring.

You obviously have to keep your distance but often we would catch them having a casual stroll by the side of the road.

The bear cubs are also so adorable and playful with each other, you just feel like giving them a hug when you see them (but obviously that would not end well! )

Moose

Authors Image- A mama moose and her baby

The one animal I really wanted to see when I arrived in Canada was a moose. I feel like a moose is such a Canadian animal, so it was high on my list of things to see.

I have only seen moose on three separate occasions during my time in Canada as it takes being in the right place at the right time to see them.

I have yet to see a male moose with huge antlers but I have seen females and younglings as pictured.

Elk

Authors Image- A male elk surrounded by female elks

There were always elks everywhere in Jasper; you didn’t need to look hard to find them.

I was always a bit wary of elks because my friends and I had been charged at by one so I always tried to steer clear if I could.

But they were so fascinating to see around and the way they interacted with each other was like watching a National Geographic documentary, especially when they playfully fought.

Mountain goat

Authors Image- Mountain goats licking the car

On a road trip with my friends, we came across a herd of mountain goats on the road and they swarmed around our car and started licking the salt off our car.

We actually couldn’t move for a good 10 minutes because they were all around us but it was really entertaining to witness.

Deer

Authors Image- Deer grazing outside my cabin

Sometimes I would wake up in the morning and see deer grazing outside my window.

It was the cutest thing and really gave me that feeling of living within nature.

The deer could also be seen everywhere, I would often have to walk through a group of deer on my way to work.

I love animals as it is, but seeing wildlife in their natural habitat is something that will never cease to amaze me, they are such pure creatures and deserve to be respected and to have their home in the wild untouched.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I loved spotting the animals!
