My Favorite Illumination Articles This Week

I recently became a part of a publication by the name of Illumination. Much more than being just another publication, it is an actual community of amazingly talented writers who take the time to read each other’s work, clap and leave comments. We support each other and lift each other up which is so important in today’s crazy world.
“You become strong by lifting others up, not pulling them down.”―Matshona Dhliwayo
In the spirit of lifting each other up, I would like to share with you a few of my favorite articles this week. It was seriously difficult to choose only 5 of my favorites when I have read so many super well written articles with some really great viewpoints, but I think I have done it.
It is my hope in sharing these articles with you that you will also have some aha moments as I did, and that you will learn something new today.
On a side note, today I received a lovely mention that I am so grateful for by Desiree Driesenaar in this fantastic article:
#Life
This post by Karen Madej 💛 really made me think, or rather rethink a lot of things. I have been keeping all of the front line workers in my thoughts as I am a front line worker stuck at home on sick leave, and all of the medical personnel and first responders too, but I hadn’t really stopped to think about my comfort and theirs in the way it is laid out in this article:
#Leadership
This brilliantly innovative article from Paul Myers MBA details a list of questions to determine whether you, or a manager you know are micromanaging in the workplace. I feel that these questions could also be carried over into home life (parenting) and relationships as well.
#Mindfulness
This beautiful article by KeepingItRealWithAnnick taught me about the 7 Factors of the Awakening Mind, which was a concept that I had heard of, but really didn’t know much about until I came across this:
#SelfImprovement
Rasheed Hooda never ceases to amaze me with his beautifully written articles, and this one is no exception. Despite the fact that I am a bit of a personal development junkie, I had actually never heard the story of the chicken and the pig, but the analogy makes so much sense to me and was something that really resonated when I read it. I just had to include this article in my favorites list:
#Vulnerability
In life we all want to be successful, yet the majority of people never take determined action towards their idea of what success is because they are afraid to fail. Christine Graves does a fantastic job of discussing why failure is actually a good thing in this article:
Before I bring this article to a close, I want to take a moment to thank Dr Mehmet Yildiz for all of his hard work, dedication, and amazing ideas in the Illumination community. Without him, none of this would have transpired and I would not be sitting here writing this article today.
If you have not yet heard of the Illumination community, take a few minutes to check it out here: (be forewarned, there are so many amazing articles that you may just find yourself spending a LOT of time here)
