Brigadeiros: The Best Brazilian Sweets

Brigadeiros are a popular Brazilian delicacy which makes me nostalgic for my childhood growing up in Brazil

Photo by João Pedro Freitas on Unsplash

Brigadeiros are my absolute favorite Brazilian dessert.

These scrumptious treats are truffle-like balls made with condensed milk, butter, and chocolate.

The dessert makes me nostalgic for my childhood growing up in Brazil. I fondly remember browsing through the display cases at the numerous bakeries of the small town where we resided.

The different types of bread, cakes, and assorted pastries were always beautifully displayed and very enticing.

The smells of the freshly baked bread and desserts permeated the air and made my mouth water.

Despite the abundant selection, I would always gravitate to the addictive brigadeiros.

As a self-proclaimed chocoholic, I could never resist these tempting chocolate truffles, which were also popular at Brazilian birthday parties and gatherings.

We recently discovered a wonderful local farmers market that features a Brazilian vendor who sells fabulous homemade brigadeiros.

I will now be able to revisit one of my childhood pleasures.

What is your favorite childhood treat/dessert? Please share your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you Yana Bostongirl, Celine Lai, and Christine Vann for your kind words.
