My Everything

A Poem

You possess the ability,

to bring about humility,

your stability.

Is the fuel to my fire,

I’d be a lair,

if I said not occupying space in your heart, it isn’t my greatest desire.

The thought of you overtakes my mind,

my mind,

most times,

tends to define,

just how many ways that you’re all mine.

A dream come true,

in the midst of so many, I can only see you.

The beat to my heart, that pumps the blood through my veins,

all my losses, could never compete or compare with my gains.

At times I may treat you like I don’t need you,

but those are the times I feel I don’t deserve you.

I want your best to be,

all that you have yet to see,

so I know I have to dig down deep to pull up, and out, the best in me.

It’s a struggle, it’s a fight,

but you’re worth the battle because I need your light,

you without me, I possess no vision because you are my sight.
