My Earnings Report On Vocal-Media Is Surprising And Pleasing
What it’s like to be on Vocal Media
Last year, I joined Vocal Media because I saw a big ad via Facebook. It started my writing journey. I am still on Vocal Media because it is hard to resist the challenges and the earnings options available on the site.
What I learned, first of all, is that it’s a whole different community on Vocal Media. You don’t need to get 100 followers to start making money. You can share your article and I joined a lot of Vocal Media Facebook groups.
Even if you don’t get a whole lot of reads, you can make money by doing a few things, like just joining. I earned a $10 welcome bonus on October 26, 2021.
Then I wrote some more and get another $5 by publishing my 5th story. I earned another $10 by publishing my 10th story. I liked (hearted) 15 stories by other creators and I earned $5. I heard that there is another bonus if I write 50 stories.
I would love Vocal Media to have the comments option so I can get to know the community a bit more.
Another big deal for me is the challenges put on by Vocal Media. These challenges are the big cure for writer's block. I aim to be a nonfiction writer, but sometimes the ideas are not there when you want them to be. Vocal Media has wonderful challenges, which have deadlines and this does help aspiring writers get to the task of starting and completing the story.
I wrote a few short stories, of which I am somewhat proud. You can check out my last one here. I surprised myself by writing poetry for the first time in my life. The poems were for a recent contest. It took me a few days to write it and I can now appreciate how difficult it is to write a poem. You can see mine here. Although I haven’t won any challenges yet, that shouldn’t stop a person like me from trying. We are all amateurs on the site, and I think everyone has an equal chance of winning challenges.
Vocal Media publishes all the winners’ stories. I have looked at some of the winning entries and most are long-winded, and filled with pictures. Contest organizers are seeking a new twist on things, so don’t use the same word 10 times in the story. You will need to find some synonyms for common words.
Earning Report
I am happy that my earnings were boosted due to the three commissions and the regular bonuses. (see the photo I took myself)

My biggest surprise was that I earned $60 in referrals between February and March. You can also get referral money too when you join and promote the unique link that they provide. That’s $20 per referral which is a great incentive. Hint: Post your referral link after every article that you publish. You can write new content or move your articles from a different platform to this site — just make sure you state your article was previously published on Medium or some other site.
Another takeaway is that you need to be patient when you are submitting your story to be published. It took me a few days to get my story reviewed and published. Do something else, like write on Medium. Just be patient.
For the time being, I am going to stick with Vocal Media for a while because I love their challenges, which pay as much as $2500. In summary, here is what makes the site worthwhile: you get regular bonuses, you get earnings for writing, and you also get bonuses for writing, and you can also take part in their referral program and their writing challenges.
Other ways you can make money on Vocal Media is by getting paid for the “reads,” promoting a product, and by gently asking for tips.
Are you ready to try your hand at writing nonfiction, poetry, or reproducing your Medium articles on Vocal Media? You can cancel at any time but I think you will agree the bonuses are easy to get. You can join here by using this link.
That’s all today. I would like to recognize Jacqui Rosser. Please check out her article here:
