My Earnings on Medium in The First Two Months.
And my experience on Medium.
I have been writing on Medium for almost two months with the partner programme, I am always curious to learn more about this platform, how to join publications, how other people are using the platform and so much more. This is why I wanted to share my experience of using the platform and the success I have had during the last two months of publishing articles.
In my first month on Medium I was researching how to join publications. Then I started applying to a range of different types of publications but I only got accepted by 2. So, then I started my own publication and added the article I had already written to it. Then I found an account similar to mine and followed lots of their followers and the next day I did the same with one of the accounts I had followed and I have carried on doing this since then, this way you can be support those accounts and they can support you (if they follow you back!). When you first start to write on Medium you should try to write at least 3-4 articles a week so all the people that have just followed you back and everyone who follows the publication that you sent your work to can be notified when you publish a new article and they will start looking forward to reading your work.
In my experience of my first month I started to see the number of views/ reads and fans increase, although it was slowly I knew I was slowly starting to gain a following. The only problem was that the people who were reading my articles were not members on Medium this is why in my first month on Medium I only made $0.24 and had 29 views, 15 reads and 8 fans.
Therefore I had to come up with a knew idea, I came up with a few ideas for articles I would want to read (and write) and I thought of 100 Word To Help with Productivity. This is a series which I started to publish in my own publication “Start Now”, this way I could give advice and help to people who are struggling to get their tasks done for the day. I publish these articles every Sunday/ Monday so the people who follow these articles can start the week feeling refreshed, motivated and inspired to stat and finish everything they want to do. The views and interaction with the articles I have published in this series are starting to gain more and more attention as I continued to publish them consistently.
This is how I have earnt more money than the last month and I am only halfway through my second month. So far I have earnt $0.28, although it is not much of an increase from last month I know this is a sign of improvement and development of my work and the content I am publishing. I know many people say to start earning more money on Medium you must publish your work with a developed publication, but this month I have not published a single article with a publication I have just published it in my own, “Start Now” and I have already earnt more money than last month. Not only have I earnt more money the stats of the number of views, reads and fans have also increased as you can see from the image below.
In the past few weeks the number of views I have received has almost doubled, the umber of reads I have had ha more than doubled and the number of fans I have has more than doubled. Logically, if i continue on this trajectory and continue to follow like-minded people who will read my work and appreciate it and if I continue to publish a high standard of articles multiple times a week then the stats should continue to double next month and the month after that until I have developed a following of people for my account and my publication.
