My Earnings Have Fallen Drastically Since March!
What can I do about it?
I had finally gotten some traction in February of this year when I posted this article:
I made $118 the next month, but only $65.00 from it. I had only made $100 another time and that was three years ago. I found out that all of my 600 articles were hardly ever seen and a lot of them had -0- claps and as a result very low stats. I wondered why. I had to find out.
I guess the lovely algorithm we have doesn’t help the writer unless their articles are seen. How are they to get seen if they aren’t. I post them to Facebook as well and send them to friends and family. I don’t have a website as that is challenging for me to do. (Can someone help me with this? It has to be FREE as well.)
I thought the lovely algorithm was our friend and would be helpful. Through comments I received from writers that found the above article, I found that I was not in anyone’s daily feed. My articles never showed up on the Medium front page so how was anyone able to read anything.
Since the March article, more writers are aware that I exist, but I read a notification just recently that gave me the hint that I am probably invisible again. The comment was: “I have not seen any of your articles lately. Did you stop writing?”
In April, my income dropped to $77.88. I posted seventeen new articles that month. I thought they were pretty good. I follow the rules and find ideas that I think others’ would like to know about.
My income for May is now $40.00 or so. I won’t get the final amount until it is posted to my account as I don’t receive any emails from Medium anymore and they have not corrected the problem after I asked them twice to do so. I hope this still goes to my forty-one subscribers even though my email account is bouncing any email from Medium back to them.
This is what happens to the little guy. Why is Medium so mean? If my articles were more noticed I think I could make money for them. I recently got a new subscriber yesterday. That was only because I sent her my link to Medium and she subscribed to my email. She is a new friend and has published books in her life time. I have a book I would like to publish.
All I can do now is publish articles and hope for the best. I have read some articles by Warren "Storyteller" Brown who gives a lot of great input on storytelling and has written books that are on Amazon. Also there is another writer Indigo that is rather smart at getting people interested in how to make some extra money writing and connecting with other writers. May be these two people, who I have never run across before, can help me with their ideas. You should check them out as well, of course.
Besides writing, I am an artist. I have been inspired lately by one artist in particular, Britto, who is very famous in south Florida as well as all over the world. He has painted portraits for famous individuals and has met them. His artwork has been displayed at Disney World and on cruise ships, in parks, and on cars and clothes.
I haven’t made any money with my artwork but am getting there with meeting some gallery owners and international artists. Something may come of it.

I hope to find the exact formula on this site that makes a great deal of money. I know Barak Obama is a writer here and so is Will Wheaton. They are famous already and everything they write gets crazy amounts of views, claps, reading time, etc. They don’t have to try. But the rest of us do.
