Trust Those Thoughts that Bring You Discomfort. They are Real and Deserve Your Attention.
If you suffer from a lifetime of anxiety or troubling thoughts, this meditation practice is worth a try.

If you have avoided meditating or struggle with feelings of doing it wrong…please keep reading!
My daughter and I began a T.M. Meditation® practice together and the peace, calm and self-healing we found transformed our lives and everyone around us.
What is TM Meditation® you ask?
FORBES says, “Perhaps its greatest benefit is that it’s relatively quick to learn and easy to master. No waiting weeks or months of practice before you see results: TM cuts right to the chase, taking only days — or for some, minutes — before one feels reprieve from their painful and overwhelming thoughts.”
Meditation doesn’t have to feel boring or a chore…
We were really enjoying meditating together, our practice was twice a day for 20 minutes. The shared adventures of meditating in gardens, pool side at dawn, at parks, on the beaches and in our home made this time really special and fun.
And as this beautiful peace and gentle calm began to prevail, something unexpected and wonderful began to happen…
As the weeks passed, the anxiety my daughter had all of her life just faded away! The insistent, tormenting voices gone!
Six months prior…
My daughter was becoming more and more anxious and uneasy as the days passed. Within a month, she made several trips to the E.R. and was questioning whether she needed medication and a psychiatrist. This was very uncommon behavior for her, but instinctively, she felt something was wrong and it scared her.
Growing up, she would occasionally have fears and thoughts about dying. Now in her 30’s, for some reason those voices where getting louder.

A journey back in time.
On July 21, 1986, Aria (my daughter) and her dad and stepmom were driving home on the 405 freeway, here in Los Angeles. Only 3 at the time, Aria was sitting in the back seat, behind her daddy when…

The story goes on to read…
For Redondo Beach attorney Douglas Black, “Regarding Henry” was not just another afternoon’s diversion.
“I looked at this (movie) and I cried,” said the muscular 42-year-old Black. “I said, ‘By God, it’s me.”
Like the film’s main character, Black, an attorney with a wife and daughter, suffered a brain injury that wiped out his memory and speech and paralyzed his right side.
For five years, he has worked nonstop, struggling to reclaim the self he lost in a split second: A brick sailed out of nowhere, crashed through the windshield of his Porsche and crunched into the side of his head as he sped north on the San Diego Freeway in Carson…
Those voices were VERY real…
Sitting in the backseat, splattered with her daddy’s blood. A witness to the screams and fear of dying her step-mom was expressing as she gained control of the steering wheel from the passenger’s side — as cars passed by at 60 mph. (Ruth Romo is a Hero and an Angel!)
So you see…
Why Aria wanted desperately to end these insistent, tormenting voices once and for all. I asked if she would look at medication and psychiatry as a “plan B” and to please give TM Meditation a try.
The steps it took to get there…
We had gone to a TM Meditation introduction in Santa Monica together in early 2018 and I had signed up immediately, whereas, Aria was busy traveling. I had personally tried just about every type of meditation and attended many magical retreats over the years, but something was vastly different with this practice. I felt a peace and calm I had never experienced before, and I believe everyone around me felt it too.
After several reminder’s and invitations, Aria was inspired and made the time to sign up and took the 4-day initiation. We attended some group sessions together at the TM center and I found a wonderful local meditation studio called, The Den Meditation that offered; Sound Bowl Meditation, Chanting, Reiki and many other spiritual practices that we have incorporated into our lives.
Then, COVID-19…
We have been self-quarantined together since and as the TM Meditation practice suggests, we have been meditating twice a day for 20 minutes. It has been an extraordinary experience to be a witness as Aria found that same peace and calm. As the weeks passed, the anxiety she had all of her life just faded away! The insistent, tormenting voices gone!

A LITTLE SELF-WISDOM SESH: Prayer and Meditation connect us to higher intelligence and have positive impacts on calming our mind and clearing negative emotions. Prayer focuses on positive emotions like love, gratitude and Compassion, which allow goodness in our lives and the lives of those we pray for. Meditation reduces anxiety, stress, and depression, which helps us to find and connect to peaceful states. Being mindful improves our mental flexibility, brain elasticity and keeps neurons active, while helping to keep the brain activity more balanced. Spiritually centering ourselves on peace, prayer and contemplation of God and the Universe, helps us maintain our trust in life, faith, and relaxes every part of the body, mind and spirit.

GO DEEPER: Take note of what word or phrase stood out to you. Come back to that word or phrase throughout the day being present to its impact and invitation.
