PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
My Daily Life in Thailand
Week 75 of the photographic documentary of my daily life
Another week of blue skies, freefallin', and eating exotic foods. Yes, that is what describes my life here in Thailand the best. I’m loving life between the sky and earth in the warm climate of southeast Asia.
When I got home today and looked out of the window I saw the pretty sky. Soft cushion-like clouds were decorating the blue.

Today we had a long day at work and were excited when friends asked if we wanted to join them for dinner at the sushi place. With an all-you-can-eat menu, we ordered lots of different dishes and shared them at the table.
I had planned to take a picture while having dinner but kind of expected myself to forget about it and took this photograph as we entered the mall. Just in case. J-park, it is called which stands for Japanese park. Lots of Japanese restaurants are located here. The entire building is decorated in Japanese style.
At night, these lanterns really come to shine.

Another day at work.
Down below you can see the runway and on the right of it is the landing area where we come to touch the ground with our parachutes. Good canopy control is required when flying here since nobody wants to take a swim with a parachute attached to yourself.

Today we went to a restaurant we’ve never been to before despite living almost opposite of it for about a year. But if you can’t read the signs because you don’t know the alphabet you’re missing out on things. Sometimes at least.
Plus, here in Thailand, there are more restaurants in a street than sand corns on the beach. It’s incredible but on every corner of a house is a different small restaurant, food stall, or cafe.
Here we are now. Eating with a view onto a small pond. It’s actually a pretty huge restaurant with three main seating areas. We chose the one on the water of course. And applied mosquito repellent just before sitting down.
It was a great experience. Good service and delicious food!

Friends of ours needed help at their house lifting off something from their truck. We jumped on the scooter and enjoyed a slow cruise through rural Thailand. Palm trees, villages, and farms were lining the road as the sun was setting.

Wednesday is laundry day.
Like many other households in Thailand, we do not have our own washing machine. But that is no problem since we have two or three laundromats in the housing complex we live in. One of them is open 24/7.
All I have to do is walk down the stairs, and throw the clothes in the machine. They have driers here as well but I think it’s a waste of money putting clothes in a drier when they dry here within 30 minutes if you hang them up.
While the instructions for the washing machines are written in Thai and in English, I had no issues starting my load. What I didn’t understand was why the prices would change from one to the next time.
Until I met a guy who works there every Wednesday. There is a reason why he’s only there on Wednesdays. On Wednesdays, every load is half price, and half of the town stops by to do laundry.
Now, it all makes sense to me.

This has been my week in photographs. 7 days. 7 photographs. Anyone can join. Once. Or weekly. It doesn’t matter. We welcome everyone! Dennett was the one starting this photography challenge in summer 2020 and many have participated ever since.
