My Dad had China Balls

I am taking my own Titles challenge from the recent story that I wrote below.

I am tagging Tai Le Grice to choose the next one as she has stated that’s how it works.

We shall see how this goes — please read my story below to see what I meant. 👇🏻 and thank you Tai Le Grice for offering to kick this off. 😂😉

When I was a young child, my father bought a pool table to put into our garage and make it a sort of FAMILY FUN ZONE.

I am sure that he had our best interest at heart but that meant that there was only room in the garage for one car.

(Much to my mom's chagrin…)

Mom looking askance at Grand Funk poster sort of like she felt about the garage Fun Zone Idea…😂 my photo. All rights reserved.

The way she looked above is sort of how she felt about this idea of Dad’s, I’m sure.

We were all allowed to play pool with the original pool balls that came with the pool table. Dad took the time to teach each of us kids (and Mom) how the game is played and how to use the pool cues etc.

Dad preferred being there with us at first to show us “the ropes” and then after that we could invite our friends over after we each proved that we knew how to handle a pool cue. (Without ripping up the felt on the table) 😉😂.

We even had the “Fancy pot passer” that Granny Clampitt referred to so often in the TV show “The Beverly Hillbillies” way back in the day.

Then one day my dad announced he had gotten a set of China Balls —

These were special balls to use… But

ONLY WHEN DAD WAS HOME PLAYING POOL 😳

So, now we had NEW RULES…

No one TOUCHES those China Balls without dad's permission.

I think what he was afraid of was that one of us would have an extremely strong arm and hit the ball so hard that it might fly off the pool table and land onto the garage floor —

Thereby Cracking the ball and ruining it completely.

I think he gave us too much credit for our strength but then again dad used to be a kid and knew what shenanigans can happen while having FUN in the FUN ZONE of life…

So, there’s my story of that title I started in my last article. (See above)

Now my dear friend Tai Le Grice. Will take this challenge that she mentioned to me in her comment on that article and run with it.

Tai’s comment: “Here’s the deal, Lu. You write one, tag me, and then I’ll write one, include this article, and tag the next person, until we get through the list. :)”

Tagging the original people, I tagged here yet Tai will tag whoever she wishes in hers. This might be fun, eh?
