My regular readers knew that I had not been active on Medium for 2 to 4 days. Sorry guys, there were so many poetry responses to my challenge that I wasn’t able to read yet. However, I will surely read them after some time.

I have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination just some days ago. So, I think I should share my experience with all of my friends and followers.

It was definitely mixed feelings at first. It was a relief with some hesitance.

Honestly speaking, I was sacred. However, I didn’t need to be frightened.

After taking the dose, my arm was slightly sore in the injection area and the joints in that hand were a bit inflamed as well as a high fever the next day. My whole body was in pain and I didn’t feel like working.

Overall, I experienced some of the normal side effects: I had a fever, body aches, cold, and cough that night. But, by the next day, I was perfectly fine and got back to my normal routine.

This is my personal experience after taking the COVID-19 vaccination, everyone has different symptoms and experiences after taking the vaccine. My father didn’t get a fever or any other symptoms. I have been faced with symptoms after the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. So, it depends on your body and how it will react.

During the vaccination, remember that it’s just a small prick that could save your life so take a deep breath.

Some people like me may develop fever, muscle pain, swelling, redness, or a tingling sensation at the site of injection for 1-2 days. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids.

You can take some paracetamol to help ease any of these sensations.

In a nutshell, everyone needs to get vaccinated as soon as possible, especially the older citizens as well as those who are at high risk. The sooner we get people vaccinated, the faster the world will be able to fight and overcome COVID-19! Wear a mask, maintain social distancing and keep following the COVID-19 guidelines to protect yourself and those around you.
