Summarize

My Country, My Hometown

Photo by Aaron Burden on Unsplash

The immense beauty of the vast blue sky And light reflecting off buildings had me Gazing, never taking my eyes off the view from above I want to be like the kite I see Riding on the swift caress of the wind I felt as if time froze, just me alone with the Infinite I took everything in Because I do not want to forget this moment

This city I was born into has seen my Blood, sweat, and tears Many a time I felt myself A stranger in a familiar land I wonder if it will call out to me when I am far away A stranger in someone else’s land

I want to live my days simply, truly I am Insignificant In a sea of faces amidst the crazy morning rush This generation is built upon high ideals People with dreams and aspirations The face of this city sometimes feels like someone I recognize But only from afar Full makeup, covered in glitz and glamour Yet undiscovered at its heart
