And all I got was four lousy limericks.
COVID-19 is now running amok There’s no place to dodge, there’s no place to duck The stats are climbing, while the poem is rhyming, And our country is sh*t out of luck.
COVID-19 is now running amok There’s no place to dodge, there’s no place to duck We take them to task for not wearing a mask And still, they seem to not give a f*ck.
COVID-19 is now running amok There’s no place to dodge, there’s no place to duck Where’s Donald Trumper? Hiding in his bunker, Getting very good at passing the buck.
COVID-19 is now running amok There’s no place to dodge, there’s no place to duck We have to admit, #45 is full of sh*t, And the chickens have come home to cluck.
These poems were inspired by a limerick prompt in the latest IdeaStream:
Marilyn Flower writes political humor and satire to delight socially and spiritually conscious folks. She’s a regular columnist for the prison newsletter, Freedom Anywhere, where she writes about faith and prayer. Five of her short plays have been produced in San Francisco.
