My City (Part 2)

Taif, Saudi Arabia

Exploring Taif is exciting and thrilling. If you come from Makkah , you will see a serpentine highway winding up through the mountains. When you reach at the top, you will find fruit markets, and rose farms. Taif is also known as the City of Roses, because of its fragrant flowers that grow in the valley. Taif’s weather and beauty attract people from across the country to escape the scorching weather of Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims also visit the historical places. You can also see the frolicking baboons on the way of plunging valleys. In summer, the city blossoms among the blooming roses. Souq Okaz cultural festival is popular event in the city. Okaz festival has been the traditional event for centuries.

Shafa valley is famous for its beauty and curling clouds, located 25 kilometers southwest of Taif. Park is People enjoy barbecues, camping, hiking, and mountain climbing.

Al Hada Mountain is another cool pace with its natural vastness and fields of roses. A road curves and sweeps down elegantly, resembling zig-zagging camel trails. The rows of mountains get greyish ombre color as the sun sets. The cable car runs between the mountaintop and the valley-floor.

Taif’s downtown market has unique beauty. Through the narrow alleys of sand-colored buildings, you suddenly find huge plazas.
