My Cat Loves Sex Energy
But it wasn’t like that when we first got her.
My cat Allison is a fiend for sex energy. She actually likes all kinds of energy and frequently sits on my lap when I meditate even though she is otherwise not much of a lap sitter, but sex energy is her very favorite. If ever there are any humans petting each other, or even if one of us is petting ourselves, she is right there, trying to get in as close as possible to bask in those vibrations.
Allison is a bit skittish. Big sneezes make her run for the hills, so once things start getting a little hot and heavy, she’ll head off elsewhere, but kissing, foreplay, masturbation — she’s all for it. Typically what she wants to do is to lay right up against my arm or my side. At times this is no big deal, but sometimes it’s a bit awkward. Sometimes she purrs and sometimes she just hangs out. If Allison can’t find a good place to snuggle, she’ll circle around us, maybe even walking across a leg or a back, which really adds to the sexy ambiance, I can tell you.
What I find most interesting is that we’ve had Allison for about 9 years and she only started doing this about 5 years ago when I got more deeply in touch with my sexual self — when I started Taking The Lid Off The Sex Box, so to speak. I don’t remember her being particularly interested in sex energy when we first got her, but after I more fully integrated my sexual being into my larger self, she was always right there. Even though she is generally pretty shy around strangers, if we have polyamorous dates over to play, she might well make an appearance then too, walking across the bed and trying to find a good vantage point to soak up all the good vibrations.
When James and I were first together we had another cat who used to be tuned in to sex energy also, but she became agitated by it and would try to bite James. I really don’t believe it was that she was protecting me, because she belonged to both of us. I think she just felt revved up and didn’t know what else to do with that feeling. I tried to do some on-line research to see if there were any theories about cats either being drawn to sex or wanting to bite because of it, but I couldn’t find anything.
My partner Nat told me that a long time ago he had a girlfriend whose cat bit him one time in the midst of sex. After that, they had to lock the cat out of the bedroom if they were planning any amorous activities, so this is not an unknown phenomenon, but maybe just not one that people want to write about on the internet, which actually kind of surprises me. There is a lot out there about cats and energy, cats and intuitiveness, even cats and Reiki (which legend says that cats invented) but nothing that I could find about cats and human sex energy. I guess it was up to me and Allison to start!
