I’m honest… to a fault. I shoot from the hip, which means I pierce others in the heart with my words. I don’t mean to hurt people, but it happens far too often. I need a word filter.

That’s why I write and recite this scripture verse daily. I have for years.

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14, NIV)

I seek God daily, desiring He help me bridle my tongue. I trust He is my Redeemer, and that I won’t always use my words so carelessly. He is faithful, and so am I.
