My Awesome Lifetime Fantastic Exclusive Wish List — Revealed
In response to Dancing Elephants prompt 42 of 52
Dear Reader,
I want to thank Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, for the writing prompt to create this article. The prompt was to Make a wish list and share it, explaining why. She provided that our list could be stuff we want to buy, experiences we wish to have (travel, dream vacation, events), or things we would like to do — pursue a course, get back to a hobby, or write that book. Her prompt was at https://readmedium.com/write-a-wish-list-and-share-it-with-us-f4e2011294ff.
First, let me say that my life has been very good. That said, I am eager still to discover more of our world and share it with others. Things that I wish to experience in my life follow. I would love to continue writing and be successful.
By successful, I mean breaking out of the cheap seats on Medium.com and starting to write articles for a magazine or do copywriting for a company and get paid well. I have been trained to do both, so I would love the opportunity.
I aim to make enough money to feel like my time and effort are more than mere donations. I plan to do this within the next several years. To support my wish to become a more prolific writer, I want to purchase a new computer in about two years and purchase oodles of books to learn new techniques to write better.
I also want to write my book and have been thinking about writing a book with the theme of the effort being steam locomotives. Still figuring out what I will concentrate on, but I want to have the text written in the next couple of years.
I would love to buy a new car. I wanted a Dodge Challenger and still do. It would be awesome to drive a sporty car like that. That said, I have also been looking at Mercedes and BMW vehicles.
Those are luxury vehicles; driving one would be great. I don’t know what I will buy, if anything, nor the timeline for the purchase. This is very much an item on my “wish” list.
I would love to have my home paid off. Since I worked for 42 years for the Air Force, I moved often and bought and sold homes in several locations. I have been paying for my home for 13 years, so I should be able to pay off the house in the next 10 to 15 years. This is provided the taxes and insurance don’t continue their drastic increases like the past two years.
I would love to be able to go back to Europe and travel through Italy, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, England, France, Germany, Norway, and Ireland. I would also love to return to Alaska and travel to locations my family, and I could not afford to travel to when we lived there. Travel has always been important to me, and I have enjoyed learning more about the places I have been fortunate to travel to.
This is one of those wishes that will be with me for the entire time I can travel. I have been fortunate and have traveled to locations I never thought I would.
I would love to continue living in America if I can, and we have a free country because of the brave. I served my country for 42 years, and the last thing I want to see happen is for the government to become communist.
I would love to see America turn back toward God so that he can continue to extend his grace and allow us to remain the Land of The Free Because of the Brave. This is only possible if our country continues to support a robust military force and we have a God-fearing, America-loving President.
I would love to continue to lead a pain-free life. With the medical ailments that I have, it may not be possible. I can be a better husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather when I am healthy.
I enjoy my kids and grandchildren. I would love to spend more time with them, but this may or may not be possible due to geographical locations separating us.
I want to continue being married and love my dear wife more as each day passes. We have been a dynamic team for 43 years and have been successful.
I want to continue eating healthy food in the right portions and drinking good, fresh water and other drinks such as tea, coffee, and soft drinks in moderation. I am doing this now and hope to continue doing it in the future.
I want to continue to walk 3 to 4 miles every morning and work in my yard, taking care of the trees, bushes, grass, flowers, etc. I enjoy keeping one of the best yards in our neighborhood and hope to continue.
Money and health are the biggest hindrances to getting these things done, so I wish that my health stays good and that I can work and earn the money required to keep my wishes alive and allow me to fulfill them successfully.
