My August 2023 monthly pages

How I set up my monthly log in my bullet journal during August 2023

I did post an article on various bullet journal monthly set ups that I had used. One of them was a double page spread, but the pages did look cluttered as I had notes from the previous month on them as well.

My July 2023 double spread monthly log

I also did say that if you stay tuned, I would post my August 2023 monthly log, as that was a better example of how to do a double page spread for your monthly overview. So here it is…

My Monthly set up from my bullet journal for August 2023

As you can see above, the two pages I used were solely for the August monthly log.

I did try to make the proportions of the calendar as spaced out as possible, while keeping all the boxes as equal as possible. Also, I did not have too much to write, which I believe led to the pages looking less cluttered than some of my other spreads.

I even managed to put a habit tracker down the right side by writing the dates vertically. During August of this year, I was only tracking one habit, and I was not very particular about doing so everyday of that month anyway.

In one of my previous articles, I have written about trying to track the least amount of things possible for each month, while switching up what you want to track. Tracking too many things in one go can lead to confusion, overwhelm and cluttered pages in your bullet journal.

I hope this post has clarified for you, the idea of having a double page monthly spread. As I explained, my July one was too cluttered. Do check out my other posts for other ideas on organisational productivity and journalling. I will be posting more, and about other topics too, so stay tuned!

Thank you.
