Why has my Anchor sponsorship payment not been paid?
Is it because I am in Canada? or is it because it has been recorded in Japanese? The answer is not clear.

I started my podcast with Anchor in Nov. 2018. I like using Anchor because it is very easy and it can do everything I need from recording; editing, adding background music (BGM), through to distributing. However, there is one big thing that I am not happy about and that is that my sponsorship payment has been suspended.
I wondered why and so I sent a couple of e-mails to Anchor, but they have not given me a clear answer. I want to share my experience and hope you may be able to give me some advice.
I can’t remember exactly when, but I think I started the Anchor sponsorship in March 2019. I live in Canada where somebody said Anchor sponsorship is not supported.
I was not doing the podcast to earn money through their sponsorship, but I just wanted to try when the suggestion of joining it showed up on my dashboard. I do podcasting in Japanese, so I recorded the sponsorship campaign in Japanese (you need to record your personal advertisement for sponsorship purposes), and I added it to my episodes.
It seemed to be working because I could see how much money I could earn on my page of Anchor, but disappointingly my wallet never got money.
On my Anchor dashboard, it is clear there is some money which I have already earned and I also got an e-mail from the Anchor team when one of my sponsorships had finished.

They say that I have earned a total of US$42.39 for eight months. I can see it on my dashboard, but my wallet is still empty and I have never been paid!

The money you earn through Anchor sponsorship should be delivered by Stripe, which is the same system with Medium. I have already received some money from Medium through Stripe, so there isn’t any problem with my Stripe account.
Before I started recording my advertisement, I had heard that it is not available in Canada. So, I asked the Anchor support team if it is because I am doing this in Canada. There was no clear answer.
I have sent them messages three times since April 20th 2019. The only answer I got was; “we recently discovered a bug that was affecting how the ‘Money’ page was displaying for some of our users. We’ve identified the cause of this, and we will be releasing a fix within the next day.” I got almost the same message twice from them which is not helpful at all.
If it doesn’t work in Canada, it is fine, but they should inform me. If it doesn’t work because I recorded ads in Japanese, they could tell me. (I recorded commercials in Japanese because most of my audience don’t understand English.)
I didn’t remove my ads, which are recorded in Japanese from the episodes. I don’t think I am going to remove in the future either. The reason is that if I remove them, Anchor automatically adds their advertisement in English, which is annoying for people who don’t understand English.
As I said, it was not that I started podcasting to earn money through sponsorship. I just wanted to reach a bigger audience and sell my e-books. So, it is not a crucial thing for me. However, It is not very pleasant to see the money which they say I have earned, hanging around and never delivered into my bank account.
