My 7-Year-Old Son is Learning to Code on His Own
Changing dimensions of Learning for kids

Like most children, my son is a gaming fan. He knew that games are made with coding. His interest in coding started when he saw me writing java programs and asked me millions of questions on coding.
He kept asking me to teach him how to code but I thought he was too young for it. His persistence persuaded me to look up coding sites for kids. To my amazement, there were many coding sites for kids.
He just started with some basic Minecraft mods in tinker, as Minecraft is his favorite game.
He found out about python while exploring tinker. My son always uses youtube tutorials for help in completing difficult stages of games so he asked us if he could explore python on youtube.
By using tutorials he downloaded Python compiler. First, he tested the same basic hello world program which he started on tinker then with the help of youtube videos he enabled turtle graphics and started learning it.
I was so surprised when he created his first drawing program. In his second program, he renamed his own variables and made the program perform differently just keeping in mind the basics. He started enjoying it like a game challenging himself to make new stuff. Since then he has been doing programming every day like he would have played a newly bought video game.
