My 5 ways to find inspiration for writing
The question that probably every (aspiring) writer asks themselves is where to find inspiration for the long run. You often read that one should find their niche, but until then, it’s naturally a journey one must go through first.
There are days when I could write 3–4 texts, and on other days, the muse simply doesn’t kiss me. So, I’ve tried to understand what inspires me to write. Here’s my personal list:
Public transportation
Nowhere can you find such a diverse cross-section of people as in subways and buses. Here, everyone encounters each other in an unfiltered way, and this can lead to interesting, surprising, and sometimes even sad observations. Such situations often trigger me and sometimes make me change my perspective.
Others’ creativity
Whether it’s street musicians, street art artists, poetry slammers, or dancers — urban art often triggers me. It’s not just the art itself but also the audience’s reaction that always evokes images in my mind.
Political events
Politics is always a topic worth writing about. The world is full of events that need to be shared with the world. Taking a stance is the essence of writing for me.
Personal experiences
Every day brings new situations. Quite often, there’s a question in the air: “Why?” And when you delve into answering that question, you can fill incredibly captivating pages.
Observing people
It’s often said, “Life writes the best stories.” Observing people can become a real hobby. And what you sometimes witness there, some readers may find hard to believe.
In the end, everything can be inspiring. You just have to walk through the world with open eyes or close your eyes and let your imagination run wild. Nevertheless, you don’t have to despair when you experience a lull. It will pass because life writes new stories every day, just waiting to be captured.
