My 5-Day Medium Challenge

It’s Friday, and I finished my medium challenge. On Monday, I announced on a Medium Facebook group that I challenged myself to read 5 articles for 5 days straight.

Now I know what you might be thinking. “5 articles isn’t a lot.

Well, my challenge is dedicated to the medium community. I didn’t want to skim and clap. I read each article, line by line, and put effort towards acknowledging the writer’s piece.

Here’s My Reaction

This community is diverse. I’ll say it again — this community is DIVERSE. I read articles from love to software, and I learned so much about every person I read.

Not only were the articles interesting to read, but the passion jumped off the page. It showed me that everyone has a story to tell.

To prove I read each one, I published my reading list on my profile.

I highlighted, clapped, and commented on every single article because it doesn’t matter what you’re writing about — you should be heard. Each writer now knows there’s at least one more person that genuinely read their content.

Another thing to note, the amount of followers does not matter. I read articles from people with 2,000 followers. I read articles from people with less than 10 followers. That’s what makes medium special, you can find interesting subjects from everyone.

I chalked up a win to myself because I took roughly 25 minutes every day to read SOMETHING. It didn’t matter what I read, I learned something new every time I opened the Medium app.

My 5-Day Challenge

I’m challenging others out there to do this challenge as well. Pick 5 articles every day and engage with their work.

Don’t just skim and comment — actually read their writing. Dissect their words and style. Give honest and open feedback about something you think they can improve on. If you don’t have any thoughts, compliment their piece and spread positivity.

With less than 30 mins a day, you can learn something new from everyone.
