My 100th Published Story On Medium

This seems like a perfect time to say, “Thank you!”

Unless I’m wrong in my assumption and hopes of the incredibly cool Trista Signe Ainsworth publishing this story in her awesome Thank You Notes publication, this will be my 100th published story on Medium.

So, why am I doing it in Thank You Notes? Well, because I’m very grateful to a lot of people for playing a big part in my journey here over the last several months.

When I started on Medium back in June, I didn’t know much about this platform, other than that there was a variety of things here, including both fiction and non-fiction.

Because I’ve always wanted to be a fiction writer, I thought this would be a good place to write and publish some short stories. While I’ve done a little bit of that so far, I’ve mostly done non-fiction: stories about music & pop culture and several personal essays.

I’ve also published quite a few poems here, which has shocked me. I never even wrote poetry until I got here.

I honestly hadn’t thought about writing any of those kinds of things prior to joining Medium. It’s all been a huge surprise to me. Not just the amount of stories I’ve written in those areas, but also in how much I’ve loved writing them.

I’ve been addicted to it — which I suppose is a big part of the reason I’m now on my 100th story!

So, I wanted to say “thank you” to the people here — both readers and writers. You’ve inspired me with your kind words about my stories and you’ve also inspired me with your own stories.

I’ve actually made several new friends here since I started and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

I especially want to thank my wonderful wife Penelope Mayfield for her support and inspiration — not just on Medium, but in every minute of every day since we met.

I also want to thank Medium itself. This place has given me a platform to grow.

Not only as a writer, but also as a person.

I’m very, very thankful for that.

In addition to being able to write here, I’ve also been enjoying a new publication I recently started here called Plethora Of Pop. And then there’s also The Menu, which is a publication I write and run with Penelope.

It’s all been so, so, so very fun!

I’ve loved it and I can barely wait to see what happens over the course of my next hundred (or so) stories here.

Finally, one last thank you…

Thank you for reading this. I hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy!
