MUST WATCH: Red Bull Made A Skatepark That’s Suspended From A Hot Air Balloon

Kriss Kyle, a Scottish BMX rider and Red Bull athlete braved the floating skatepark doing 360s & flips at 2100 feet in the air. Red Bull claims this is the world’s highest skatepark. They clearly haven’t been to the Northside skatepark in my hometown. That place is littered with crack heads, and well… there’s nothing on this planet that’s higher than a crackhead.

Don’t get me wrong, this is by far one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. But what’s up with Red Bull encouraging their athletes to constantly try near death stunts? Remember the dude that jumped from the goddamn edge of space?! There’s simply no need for that.

There’s no advancement on the human species being made by accomplishing these stunts. I honestly don’t think there’s any increase in Red Bulls being sold either. I’m not entirely sure what message their marketing team is attempting to portray, but if drinking a Red Bull makes you want to skydive from outer space, I’ll pass. Regardless, I’m never going to scroll past one of these videos. No matter how sweaty my palms get, I have to watch.

After watching the Kriss Kyle video, I got to thinking. What sports would be the coolest to watch if you suspended the athletes from a hot air balloon? Except unlike Kriss, the athletes didn’t have a parachute. Here’s my top 3:

  1. UFC/MMA — Imagine a fighter getting knocked out cold and when they wake up, they realize they’re falling 2100 feet to their death.
  2. NFL — Again, the thought of some small WR getting thrown out of the floating stadium on a Pick 6 is exhilarating.
  3. Ben Simmons shoot around — except every time he misses a shot, the court gets smaller and smaller. He’d be a goner by his tenth shot.

Here’s my top 3 of sports that wouldn’t be cool to watch on a floating platform:

  1. Pickle ball — Lame sport and nobody actually moves fast enough to fall.
  2. Golf — Logistically speaking, I feel like it would simply cost too much money and be far too big to suspend from a hot air balloon
  3. Cheerleading — I’m only putting this in hopes that my ex will see this and take me back because I acknowledged cheerleading as a sport. I miss you boo. Still would be wack to watch on a floating platform.
She’s so handsome

I don’t know what Red Bull plans on doing next, but I know they’ll put one of their athletes lives at serious risk. And I cannot wait.
