This book is beautifully curated for Black women — It’s broken down into three parts: Mind, Body, and Soul. There are 150 self-care activities and illustrations that are curated for Black women. Practice some of these self-care activities with one another. Side note: It’s nice to not only have something for ourselves, but to have something for ourselves that’s curated so beautifully.
Oludara Adeeyo understands the depths of Black women because she is a Black woman — She not only validates our experiences, but provides us with a framework to better understand ourselves in relation to one another and the world around us. After reading, Self-Care for Black Women, I believe that self-advocacy and sisterhood are at the forefront of radical self-care!
I strongly recommend, Oludara Adeeyo’s, Self-Care for Black Women to Black women, or anyone that has an interest in supporting Black women in a world that systematically devalues both Black people and women. Adeeyo has a way with words that made me feel seen, heard, loved, accepted, and understood.
Overall, she emphasizes the importance of deepening our relationship with self and one another in our journey of radical self-care!
