Musings On A Color Of Yellow I Fell In Love With
I’m not sure when this fixation was born but I think perhaps a little while before me. Skin isn’t opaque and my mother was always on an island full of sun.
Then it was the color buttercups reflect on your chin. I love dandelions too even if men decided they are pests.
After that, boys with hair made of sunshine. After that, the color of a woman’s eyes when she’s claimed herself. After that, the aura of someone who glimmers like sunrise on a calm pond because they have decided they are neither.
Then it was all yellow, because I realized all the colors everyone told me were ugly actually weren’t.
Now it’s you and the color of your personality, the way you love. The yellow I love in the way you create ease and sureness even when hiding it in yourself. The bright yellow of your tears when you decided not to hide and that was my final fall, the one that made me realize how much I love your color yellow.
Just wanted to drop off this little piece of sunshine I wrote today.
