Musings of Maxwell: A Day in the Life

the day-to-day life of my #1 fur guy!

Lady and Max, photo by me.

Hey, I’m Max! I’m the scruffy guy in the chair! My mom gave me the keyboard for the day while she watches wrestling and listens to audiobooks.

She wants me to write about my daily life. While I wish she could experience the same carefree life I have, I’ll spill.

First, I hate ALL mailmen! I will sit on the back of the chair and bark my head off when one even gets to the end of my sidewalk. Dang this solid structure that keeps me from biting some ankles!

While daddy always feeds me, I’ll always go after the real food. Yes, there’s a difference between this crap you give me and real food like cheese and meat! Oh, how wonderful meat is! Sometimes Daddy forgets to put his plate in a secure place. Oh happy day!

I was built to be mommy’s cuddle buddy. I’m small which means that I fit into her arms perfectly. So, why is mommy typing on the computer again? Why is she doing weird standing and sitting positions?

My sister is nice. I like laying next to her and sharing our warmth. But, she is a bit of a pain! She’s constant competition for affection. I’ll nudge mommy’s hand for pets and while she’s petting me, sissy will flip on her back, work her way up on the mattress and licking mommy non-stop.

Mommy knows the deal though, she’ll give her temporary attention, but I am baby.

I even understand mommy’s needs. For example, I know that when daddy lays down at night, mommy will cover his body with her arm and I’ll go to her shoulder. When she says “bathroom” I know to move my butt!

Overall, being a dog is wonderful. 10/10 recommend! Now, you guys gotta go so I can take back over on mommy’s lap! Peace ya’ll.

Also, thanks to Randy Pulley. I wrote this after reading his fun story about his cat Custard.
