Music/No Words
A Poem
Music - just music,
no words, no lyrics,
just instruments; many or a few, one or just two,
it is worth a try — listen; sometimes it is too much -
the words the words the words - they inundate they saturate they escalate -
they warp, they dumb down.
They take more than they give - enough, enough, enough.
Our brains need rest, our brains need nourishment.
Music with no words - like solitude almost,
like being okay with being alone - With just your thoughts.
Like being okay with being inspired - to use your imagination for a while,
music, just music jazz, classical, -
maybe even silence - a pause;
a break - a space -
the story, the poem, the spark, is in the quiet spaces -
expand them, expand them -
protect them - exist in them.
